AI Council FAQs

Find answers about AI Council sessions, participating AI models, account limits, data storage, subscriptions, and connecting the council to your AI tools.

How do I add the council to the Claude app on my phone?

Sign up free, copy your personal connector URL from your dashboard (it looks like https://…/mcp?key=ck_…), then in the Claude app go to Settings → Connectors → Add Connector and paste it. One-time setup — then just ask.

What about ChatGPT?

ChatGPT supports connectors on web and desktop behind developer mode. On your phone, Claude is the easiest path today — the connector UIs can't set custom headers, so your key travels inside the connector URL itself.

Why didn't the council trigger?

The free plan is on-demand only — nothing runs automatically. Ask your AI to consult the council, e.g. “get the council's opinion on whether I should rewrite this in Rust”. Always-on triggering for coding tools is part of Pro (coming soon).

How many sessions do I get, and when do they reset?

Free accounts get 3 council sessions a day. The count resets at midnight UTC, so your free sessions come back tomorrow. Guests get 3 replies a month total, and only one of them can be a full council session (the clerk answers the rest). Signing up gets you 3 council sessions every day. Pro gets 10 council sessions a day.

What data do you store?

Your email (for sign-in), usage counts, your plan and billing state, and the first 200 characters of each question so your dashboard can show recent council sessions. You never give us AI-provider keys — the council runs on our own keys, which stay on our server. (If you use the free developer plugin, your own keys stay on your machine.)

How do I cancel?

Open the billing portal from your dashboard to manage or cancel your subscription anytime. You keep pro until the end of the paid period, then drop back to free automatically.

Is there anything for developers?

Yes — the bring-your-own-keys Claude Code plugin is free forever: run the council in your terminal with your own provider API keys, no account needed. A CLI that enforces always-on council for coding tools is coming soon for Pro.

Which AIs sit on the council?

Eight providers sit on the council. Seven members answer every question independently — Codex 5.6 Sol, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grok 4.6, Kimi, DeepSeek, Qwen, and Mistral — then peer-review each other's answers anonymously. Claude presides as chairman: it reads all answers and reviews, weighs the votes, and writes the one ruling.
